CHS Buddy Privacy Policy

Version 1.0
Effective 1 August 2026

CHS Buddy is a private, on-device symptom journal and educational support app. It does not require an account and does not operate a server that collects app data.

Information stored on the device

CHS Buddy uses Apple's SwiftData framework to store symptom check-ins on the user's iPhone. A check-in may include nausea and abdominal-pain ratings, vomiting count, a selected CHS phase, possible triggers, relief methods, notes, and a timestamp.

The app uses local preferences storage for appearance, notification choices and times, and custom tracker options.

Collection, tracking, and sharing

CHS Buddy does not collect or receive personal information on a developer-controlled server. It includes no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, HealthKit integration, or iCloud sync.

External resources open only when the user chooses a link. The destination website then operates under its own privacy policy.

Notifications and CSV export

Local reminders are optional and their text is intentionally general. A CSV file is created only when the user selects Export symptom history. The user chooses where to save or share it.

Removing information

Reset all data permanently removes symptom check-ins and custom tracker options from the app's local storage after explicit confirmation. Deleting the app removes its local container subject to normal iOS backup and device management behavior.

Medical information

CHS Buddy provides education and self-tracking support. It does not diagnose or treat a health condition, provide emergency services, or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.

Contact and policy changes

If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated before the changed release is distributed. Questions can be sent to austratlien@gmail.com.
